Hunter Beck’s healthcare journey began seven years ago at age 13, when he learned he had kidney stones. He attends symposiums and sits on panels where he speaks on his experiences and shares his knowledge and perspective. His involvement with the Pediatric KIDney Stone (PKIDS) Care Improvement Network and as a family research partner at Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania gives extra meaning to his ordeals. His advocacy helps others and to him, that’s the best reward. Now a college student, he plans to study public health and patient advocacy so he can continue to work in this space.
