Maritza Martinez has worked with the East Harlem community for 15 years. She provides home-based and in-office case management and case assistance services to diverse populations living in New York City Housing Authority buildings in the East Harlem neighborhood of New York City and the surrounding community, including the development of interdisciplinary case plans with a focus on financial stability, health and wellness, food insecurity, and housing stability. She also conducts psychosocial assessments and makes referrals to collaborate with community agencies to implement in-home services. Her work also includes providing supportive counseling to seniors and their families, including crisis intervention, and facilitating education and recreation programming.
