Al Richmond, MSW, is a global thought leader advocating for the increased role of communities and patients in health research. In his role as executive director of the Community-Campus Partnerships for Health, he is advancing the organization’s commitment to social justice and health equity. The organization has played a vital role in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic through his engagement in multiple National Institutes of Health-funded initiatives, including serving as co-principal investigator of the North Carolina CEAL Project, co-lead of the RADxUP Community Engagement Core and co-lead of the Community Engagement Alliance Consultative Resource. Richmond has served as lead on multiple PCORI Engagement Awards and will complete his term as a member of PCORI's Patient Engagement Advisory Panel in 2023.
