Rebecca Thurston, PhD, FABMR, FAPS, is Pittsburgh Foundation Chair of Women’s Health and Dementia at the University of Pittsburgh and an expert in menopause, trauma and women’s cardiovascular health. She is a principal investigator of the MsHeart/MsBrain and of the Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation, seminal studies of the menopause transition. She directs the Cardiovascular Behavioral Medicine Research Training Program and is also a clinical psychologist specializing in menopause care. Thurston is a recipient of the International Menopause Society’s Henry Burger Award, past president of the North American Menopause Society, and a fellow of the American Psychosomatic Society and of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research.
