Destiny Watkins is an advocate in many ways, as a self-advocate and through working as a consultant where she collaborates in the development and design of new products. She is one of the authors of “Improving Research and Practice: Priorities for Young Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and Mental Health Needs,” published in the Journal of Mental Health Research in Intellectual Disabilities. She has also been featured on podcasts and interviews sharing her story and has participated in expert panels and advisory boards. She graduated with honors from Lake City High School in 2012 and loves music, being outdoors and learning new things every day. She lives independently in Post Falls, Idaho, with her son.
