Paula Lozano, MD, MPH, oversees embedded research in the Kaiser Washington integrated health system, bridging research and clinical operations. Since 2017, she has co-led design and implementation of an innovative model for continuous organizational learning which integrates research findings into practice. She co-directs the AHRQ/PCORI-funded CATALyST K12 training program for learning health system scientists. After receiving her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completing pediatric residency at Seattle Children’s, Lozano practiced pediatrics for two decades. Her work focuses on improving healthcare quality through delivery system change, supporting provider clinical decision making and supporting patients in health behavior change.
