Sarah Khasawinah, Ph.D., is deputy staff director on the US Senate Special Committee on Aging for Ranking Member Mike Braun. She brings a decade of experience in aging policy and research, having previously served Sens. Tim Scott and Susan Collins.

She led more than a dozen pieces of legislation from conception to law including the Supporting Older Americans Act of 2020. Khasawinah holds a doctorate in mental health and Master of Health Science in biostatistics from Johns Hopkins as well as a master’s in mathematics and bachelor’s summa cum laude in mathematics and English from Bryn Mawr. She and her husband have two children.
