Peggy Markle is a strong advocate for patients and families, addressing health disparities, and building true patient-provider partnerships. When her son was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis, Markle, a Navy mom of four, instantly began navigating the military healthcare system, children’s hospitals and transplant units. She served as the site family mentor for John Hopkins and the Mayo Clinic during the I-PASS SCORE project. She serves on multiple committees and has coauthored articles on patient safety and the parent perspective on hospitalization during COVID-19. Outside the hospital she is an artist, costume designer and theater producer.
